Re: Signing IN

Well, if you're like me, typing poses a bit of a challange biggrin

Seriously though, signing in to what? The website? Check for a firewall not or browser settings not allowing cookies. Signing in to the WCG servers thru BOINC? Go to the messages tab of the BOINC Manager and copy the messages you get where the error occurs into a post here.

Re: Signing IN

Madmac --

Are you having troubles because you are signing in during one of the statistics update cycles? Stats are updated every six hours starting at midnight UTC (commonly known of as GMT). About 10 minutes after each of those hours you will be unable to sign in for about 20 minutes or so because the required files are locked.

Sometimes I get the stats update item but that is when I have signed in. The last time I could not dign in using IE but managed on Firefox 30 secs later weird. It seems to be about one in seven times that I have problems this time nothing sign in straight away.

Re: Signing IN

Madmac --

I noticed yesterday that I got an error message rather than the typical Stats message when I tried to sign on. It happened during the stats update, but I think it was because I tried to sign in from a forum page that I had been reading as a "Guest". If it continues to be a problem for you, I would suggest that you make note of the time and send a Contact Us to the World Community Grid techs. With logs and system information available to them, perhaps they can determine the cause.
