Anyone here with a few pence to spare?

Hi all.

Look,I'm not a person who's usually given to begging for pennies, but this is an exception to my rule. And, it's in a darned good cause.

The following is extracted from a post by WARDSTAR, one of our members, in our own team thread.

Happy Days my fellow crunchers

feel free to visit www.justgiving.com/peterwardwchp - I am sleeping on the street on 28th January to raise money for the homeless charity for whom I work (11 miles away from where our Team Captain resides ) and if you wish to make a donation - so much the better!

I'm not gonna ask anyone to donate anything. But, if you happen to have a couple of pounds, dollars, yen, roubles - whatever doing nothing, how about considering this young guy's effort to do something really worthy? It's all strictly above board and legal, I give you my word on that.

Thanks people, and I won't be troubling you again with this suggestion.

Re: Anyone here with a few pence to spare?

i see your friend intends to sleep on the street among drug addicts, dealers, alcoholics and who-knows-what-else.

do you know if he will be carrying any type of protection? i would recommend a .38 caliber police special firearm, at minimum.

unfortunately the homeless are also frequently beaten and robbed. good luck to your friend.

halfcard.

He'll be well protected but, thanks for your concern. Having carried firearms in the service of my country I don't, now advocate the use of such by untrained civilians. But, that's just my opinion.
