Re: smile smile smile Mac586 Joined "My Online Team" Today!!! smile smile smile

Speaking of Surrey, I lived in Cobham, Surrey for a couple of years. Caught the train into Waterloo each morning. But now it is good morning from Texas yall. smile

Morning Buckshot!

Cobham is just up the road from me - nice area! Thankfully I don't have to do the old commute into Waterloo nowadays. I don't know when you last travelled in, but the crowds are much bigger than when I first got a season ticket in 1995.

Luckily for me, my work takes me mainly into the 'home counties' with just the odd meeting in town.

New Website Feature

It's aquarium cam wink

Find it at http://82.163.156.92/myonlineteam/webcam.jpg

It's my early birthday present. Currently in just testing mode.

It's on the end of my desk so soon I'll be able to chill out watching the little fishes. At the moment it's sans fishes as I have just set it up.

Watch this space - literally

Re: New Website Feature

Dave.

It looks much like my own aquaria, bow-fronted plastic. You've obviously gone for undergravel filtration, I use the carbon loaded type that sticks to the side. I use carbon because it pulls out more of the nitrates caused by waste products. Be sure to check your water quality weekly, at least. But I'm probably teaching my granny to suck eggs with that advice.

Re: New Website Feature

Hi Gremlin2

Yep I have read all the books and I have the T Shirt as well smile I used to have a Wet/Dry Filter in a 20 Inch Tank that I built myself below my 3 footer but that was 3 house moves ago sad .

This one is a biube

http://www.biorb.com/product_details.php?p_id=15&vlang_id=46

which is a more manageable size hoping to keep some dwarf cichlids in there along with a few neons.

This is what I would like to keep in there

http://www.apistogramma.com/cms/index.php?opt...&id=119&Itemid=44

But they are a challenge. I'll see if I can keep a few neons alive from the weekend.

Dwarf Cichlids are interesting little fish as they take great care of their young herding them around like sheep. It would be great if we could get a little family of agassizii's on the web cam.

Time will tell

Dave

Apistogramma agassizii can be difficult to breed. If there's not enough foliage, if the light is too strong, or the female feels threatened, the young are sometimes eaten. I found that adding a little extract of bogwood helped to calm a nervous female because it tints the water a light brown and difuses the overhead lighting. It also changes the chemical structure of the water to more closely resemble that found in the natural habitat of these fish. But everyone who ever kept fish discovered his or her prefered way of doing things. smile
