Wow! We plod along for a year with less than 10 members (and still have a respectable score). I turn around and now we've grown to 40 members in a month! Welcome everyone, and I mean EVERYONE !!

Now that the Canadian Charter of Rights has ensured that gay Canadians have all the same rights as all other Canadians why do you feel the need to have a separate team from the rest of Canada? We are all one nation!!! Join us and drop the labels that divide us!!!

Hi Ripcat. I hear what you're saying. But the battle for acceptance and equality is far from over. We've had some amazing strides lately, but there are still people being bashed and killed for being gay. Harper still wants to take away what we've won. I still feel uncomfortable even holding hands with my partner in public. People are still getting AIDS, and the government and the drug companies are holding us to ransom. The battle is not over. Since the AIDS option became available on 'The Grid', my group has grown from seven to 45. We're proud to be Canadian... I love being Canadian. I'm also proud to be a gay Canadian. I can't quit this group... it's just a small thing, a statement I can make, and I need to do it. I wish we could associate and be counted in the general Canada group, but we can't. When the day comes that being gay means as much as being left-handed, then I'll pack this in and join my brothers and sisters and family in the great Canada group. But until then, we need to have a presence everywhere we can. I think I have 35 new members that are here because they want to contibute and make a difference in the fight against AIDS. I'm all for that. We're all working for the common good, so let's be satisfied with that.
