Well its good to see that some people do like to chat.
I agree with this being a worldwide project its difficult to keep in touch "Live". Its bad enough on MSN when you say Good Evening and they say What I just got up !!! Lets all keep up the good work. Its got to be worth it. ![]() |

Glad to hear from a number cruncher, which is what we are at really.
My question is, why join a group? Is there some advantage re the end object? Does a team generate more points than the sum of its individual members? If not , why not enjoy the feling of breaking through the 100,000 barrier ? |

Ainiseoir --
The teams do not generate more points (except for helping to keep people participating). People tend to join the teams because they share some hobby, they enjoy the comaraderie, they enjoy the competition with other teams, and similar reasons. Many of the teams have shown that they have a track record of retaining members for the grid. If you would like to find out about the many teams here, the best place to do this is in the Teams Forum. Active recruiting for teams is not allowed in any forums other than that forum. Should you decide not to participate on any team, that is just as well, it will not detract ffom your contribution in any way. Best Regards, |

Does a team generate more points than the sum of its individual members? If not , why not enjoy the feling of breaking through the 100,000 barrier ?The whole team thing was probably initially designed as a recruitment tool. It works because it serves primarily as a focus for conversations to evolve past the "project-related-question-and-answer" basics. The so-called "competition" is basically a time-tested way to generate energy and enthusiasm; get to know people and just have some fun. (We even get to fight once in a while; but we have to be real careful what we say 'cause Mom & Dad can get REALLY mad at us. [Just an inside joke. ] )Welcome aboard, Ainiseoir. See, I bet you feel happier already. ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Jan 12, 2006 3:24:49 PM] |
