Hello mathieu.grandclement,
http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=1268#5900 mentions a member having this problem caused by Kaspersky AntiVirus. The only thing I can think of is experimenting. As long as your firewall is up, you should be safe experimenting with WCG even if Kaspersky is disabled. You can try manually starting UD.exe. You can try deleting the files in the subdirectory in WorldCommunityGrid to force a new work unit download. If you get it so that it works without KAV running but stops with KAV running, then you will have identified an uinfixable problem which might go away if you switch to our BOINC client. mycrofth |

Considering that i already try to install and launch UD when KAV was desabled, i think that i will try with BOINC.
I hope it will work cause i have already 2 devices using UD at the office and i have to deploy the new AntiVirus soon, and the tricky thing is that it's Kaspersky... but if it works i may be able to add some 30/40 devices ... wish me luck, i keep informed Mat |

ok it works with boinc, KAV has no issue with boinc but it's blocking UD. Strange but if any one has this problem the simplest solution is to stwitch from UD to BOINC.
By the way, i've tested boinc on other computer too, always using my account but it seems that, on my statistics that it doesn't compt every results my computers are calculating. Can it be due to one off the computer wich is very slow (P2 266MHz 128 MB on Win XP => more than 67 hours for just one result) ? I wander if Boinc is dividing one UD paket in smaller packets ? thanks and happy crunching |

Great news mathieu.grandclement,
We are still implementing the complete BOINC system. We have enough to work, but some of the parts for reporting points and statistics are not implemented yet. What you are running into (I think) is that your points only show up after the results you have returned are validated by matching 3 other result files returned for identical copies of your work unit. There is supposed to be a BOINC results page that tells you how many results you have returned, how many have been validated, how many (if any) were invalid and how many are still awaiting validation. We will have it all running - - eventually. mycrofth |
