I have been running both UD and BOINC Windows on one machine for about a week. I've noticed UD is only getting AIDS jobs (6 so far) and BOINC is only getting Proteome jobs (several, I don't know how many). Is this normal? I'm afraid if I turn off UD I'll cut off AIDS work.
Also, while I'm getting credit for the AIDS / UD work, I don't see any credit for the Proteome / BOINC work, neither in BOINK nor in My Grid. Is this because you're not posting BOINC credits yet or are my results not getting through? |

At this time FightAids@Home is not supported under BOINC/Windows. This is why you are only getting FAAH WUs from UD. BOINC for Linux will run FAAH. As this is the case, if you do shut of the UD Agent, you will stop working on FAAH. Also, while I'm getting credit for the AIDS / UD work, I don't see any credit for the Proteome / BOINC work, neither in BOINK nor in My Grid. Is this because you're not posting BOINC credits yet or are my results not getting through? As mycrofth said in http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=4581#35989 We are in an awkward hybrid mode at the moment. The BOINC platform does not award points immediately the way the UD platform on Windows does. Instead it holds the results for validation. Once at least 4 identical results are returned for that work unit, they are validated. Each result was returned with a provisional point score. The lowest and highest scores are dropped and the remaining scores are averaged. Then the average number of BOINC points is awarded to everybody who returned a valid result. Then the BOINC points are multiplied by a conversion factor to convert them into WCG points (trying to reconcile BOINC scores with our original UD scores) and show up on your statistics. |

Thanks for the reply. I'll keep both running. I like points but I'm content just knowing I'm generating data.
