Re: grid.org vs. worldcommunitygrid.org

Here is a good starting point to learn about all the distributed computerr projects: http://distributedcomputing.info/index.html

In brief, grid.org is a long established grid that has run a number of projects. The World Community Grid (WCG) was started in 2004 and has been running the Human Proteome Folding Project for the Institute for Systems Biology in Seattle, Washington, USA. Unusually, grid.org also ran the same project. It was a large project that required many computers.

To get started, the WCG copied grid.org, so it has a very similar look and feel.

Thanks for clearing that up for me...

The two different grids running the same projects threw me off my guard...
