sad FightAids@home client fails to connect

hi,

i'm was a member of the previous project & was asked to move to the World Community Grid.
after installing the new client, i see it never manages to connect
the FAQ talks only about a proxy (which i dont use) & firewall (which i have but its log shows that i've approved everything for UD.exe ,....)
so why doesnt it work ???

Re: FightAids@home client fails to connect

Just wondering if your PC meets the spec set by the WCG?

# A Windows PC with a Pentium 550MHz or faster processor
# 250 MB of RAM or more
# 50MB of free hard disk space

The other possibility is McAffee Parental controls which show these kind of symptoms

Let us know how you get on
Dave

Re: FightAids@home client fails to connect

also, try setting to 'HPF only'. if that works, good, and you would need to add more RAM memory for the 'aids' units.

Here are the requirements: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/help/viewTopic.do?shortName=minimumreq

Notice that HPF requires much less memory than FightAIDS@Home.
