Re: Contribution YES - Overheating NO

A very cool free utility to monitor temperature and fan speed is Speedfan, available at:
http://www.majorgeeks.com/SpeedFan_d337.html

Not only is this a monitoring tool at the default setting, you can also change fan speed within this app. Just make sure you read the instructions first! wink

Some numbers with and without WCG running:

Without WCG:

CPU Load: between 1 and 3%

Fan 1: 1854 RPM
Fan 2: 1520

Temp 1: 1C
Temp 2: 31C
Temp 3: 35C

With WCG running:

CPU Load: 100%

Fan 1: 2058 (+200 RPM)
Fan 2: 1520 (Unchanged)

Temp 1: 2C (+1C)
Temp 2: 42C (+11C)
Temp 3: 38C (+3)

That is on a P4 2.8 Gz with 4 Gigs of RAM.

Hope this helps!
