Ok, so it's not stealing them, however a few weeks ago I noticed the my Mcafee Antivirus started to jump up to around 30% in the processes tab in task manager. When I end Grid Agent everythings fine, also I noticed when Grid Agent is running there is a complete halt system wide every 2 or 3 seconds, I assume this is because Mcafee has a high priority when it scans whatever it is Grid Agent is doing. Any recommendations besides not running Grid Agent, not running Mcafee Antivirus or not changing the priority of Mcaffe AV? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks people!

Of course this is not the answer you looking for, but I've been dealing with this problem as well. I'm using some programs which demand a lot of CPU-time. I used to have McAfee Antivirus installed, and I noticed a significant improvement on performance every time I shutted McAfee down.
----------------------------------------At some point I installed AVG Free Antivirus instead of McAfee and that solved all problems. It almost uses no resources at all: Normally 0% CPU and less than 20MB RAM for all running AVG services. |

Actually that did help, I've used AVG before and it worked well. I may end up disabling Mcafee and use that. Thanks.
