As a first step, can you check the permission and owner/group of the directory projects/www.worldcommunitygrid.org underneath the directory ~boinc?

As a first step, can you check the permission and owner/group of the directory projects/www.worldcommunitygrid.org underneath the directory ~boinc? I am the owner of the group. boinc has read and write access. This has not changed since our broad band and landline went down and I started tethering my phone and using 4G. It is the same as the projects still working.Adri |

Did you search the internet trying to find a cure for this?
https://einsteinathome.org/content/urls-used-downloadupload-workunits suggests that temporarily deactivating a firewall and possibly reattaching to project may work. Posting the first 50 lines of your Event Log right after BOINC client startup could help, too. https://boinc.multi-pool.info/latinsquares/forum_thread.php?id=31 suggests that an antivirus program might be blocking some files. Thread https://www.setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=78743 suggests to abort the download of that stuck file(go to the Transfers tab in your BOINC client) ("Aborting the "stuck" Transfers followed by a reboot of the computer seems to have fixed the problem."; "Sounds like an overzealous anti virus or firewall blocking access to the new file being downloaded and saved to disk without permission. Make sure the new files can get through the firewall, and always put the BOINC data directory in an exclusive zone in the AV/firewall software.") There's post 631975 also mentioning the error, but a solution ...? Adri |

Thanks. I have tried all of the above except posting first 50 lines of event log. Given this is the only project that seems to be affected, and it has only happened since I have been tethering my phone resulting in a far worse data transfer rate than my ADSL was I think I shall chalk this one up to experience and probably to do with such a bad connection. I will be back if after the 6th Jan when fibre is being installed there is no change.
