Depends on what you want. Each WU you crunch may reveal that miraculous cancer treatment that we all want, so you are not wasting your time in that perspective. If, on the other hand, you are only happy if you get all the credit and badges you are due you will still be disappointed. The infeed of WU's is only somewhat stable, communications are, well, bad - latest official status update was on the 21st of November, so it's so-so, in all.

Nee im not doing it for badges and credits. Im intersted in working on cancerprojects mainly. But if my effort is of no or seriously use, why do WCG continue one can ask. 5 machines working 100% 24/7 draws alot of power.

No one has said you need to run your computers 24/7/365. most folks just run their computers normally and BOINC runs in the background as they use their computers' Badges and credit are just for fun and hundreds of thousands of folks wouldn't even know if they have badges or not as they never come to the forums. The research is used by researchers to find cures, if that is worth it or not is your decision. ![]() |

Now is not the time to dedicate a fleet of computers that do nothing else but WCG, IMO. If that's your intention, it sounds like you'll be disappointed.
----------------------------------------All my systems do real work, and distributed computing is just making the most of those resources. If you resume WCG work on your working machine with that mentality, then you won't have an issue. There's still work being done by the tech in getting the new hardware & software migration stable. You can also choose to make a cash donation to the lab which would help them with resources. The choice is yours to make.

Tho I don't have the resources I used to have I still devote them to projects. If WCG is on the outs, something else is running; When WCG is up, it gets my time.

"Out of the ashes of Buenos Aires...." Sorry; that's "Starship Troopers". But since WCG is out of the ashes again, I'll run again until the next inevitable crash, then go to Folding@home. I can't do scientific math, so this is what I CAN do to support others who can. I run one machine which can do 6 MCM's at a time without pushing at 100%.
