Re: http service unavailable

Mine is still down and will not connect to the server. Is it just me or is this still an ongoing issue?

Re: http service unavailable

Assume it's an ongoing issue until we are notified to the contrary (or it just starts working again!)

The tech post [in a random thread] mentioned by Unixchick a little earlier in this thread indicated that he was "Working on BOINC now" so they hadn't got that far until the weekend just passed. Beyond that, I suspect there is [now] reluctance to offer estimates when unsure how long things might take, so that's all we know...

Cheers - Al.

Re: http service unavailable

In another thread I saw a quoted message saying the host servers are undergoing planned maintenance until Sept 26. So don't expect anything until Friday the 26th at the earliest.

Unless that other message was wrong. But it's the only "new" status update I've been able to find.

Re: http service unavailable

Well first of all they are moving all the data to new servers and trying to get all the sections to talk to each other. Awhile back on the Jurisica lab page they put out a statement in tech talk that one section tried to talk to another section while it was undergoing maintenance and the whole system went to hell is how I got a chatbot to translate it.

I made this thread when I saw the "project is up" thinking that meant the BOINC side was working. But that was only the web page and the physical equipment I guess that supports BOINC. The "project" itself" is still giving them fits from what I can tell.

Unixchick seems to have found a thread somewhere where a tech posted some more current information than what is on the Jurisica website. But it is still the same theme. BOINC side is down, just the web server is working.

If that quoted message was about the recent Research Alliance Canada Nibi status, it only referred to the major compute cluster at the host, not to the cloud (where the WCG stuff lives). If it had applied to the cloud these forums probably would't be running :-)

The tech guy has been working on getting the BOINC environment ready over the last few days so we should get some more news soon -- see this post in our Project Status thread in the Chat Room!

Cheers - Al.

BOINC scheduler and uploads are projected to be up Monday, September 29th, 2025 after a final weekend sprint to test the new deployment strategy for increased performance, event driven horizontal scaling, and reduced load on the BOINC database.
