I've got my three computers running WCG -- my new M3 MacBook, my old 2013 MacBook Air (OS Mojave) and my even older 2011 iMac (High Sierra). For each I've allotted the maximum time and space, and as far as I know all meet minimum requirements in terms of OS, disk space and memory.
But only my new M3 is running more than two tasks -- the 2013 MBA has only two, and the iMac none. All of them are supposed to be getting tasks, they're all under my name -- I don't know what else to do, but I'm probably doing something wrong. No idea what else I have to do or fix. Any suggestions would be most welcome. Thanks. |

Very few tasks are going out from WCG right now. It is a server issue.

I'm almost out of WUs too.
----------------------------------------It's now a regular occurrence, sadly.

The Linux hosts did receive some WU's yesterday, but the queue is not full.
----------------------------------------The Windows host (8 cores) is 3 hours far from running dry; only 6 new tasks received yesterday,. Cheers, Yves |

It's odd, because my M3 Mac has 8 WCG tasks running now -- all of them MCM -- but the other two computers have nothing. Are the tasks running maybe because they started before the server started having issues?
Also odd is that, because WCG is so intermittent, I signed up for other projects NOT on WCG, some of which ran for a few days, but they've vanished also. The thing is, these older computers are like 12 and 14 years old (put a new battery in the 2013 Air yesterday, though I have it always plugged in) and I have them going 24/7 expressly for these grid computing efforts -- my small contribution to worthy causes -- but most of the time they're just on but not making any contributions, so I don't know whether to keep them going or just power down for a while and check back later. I can't blame the scientists for this situation -- they've got a lot on their various plates (now including funding!) -- it's just hard to know what I should do, if anything. It would be great if they were a bit better at communicating, if our contributions are really as important as they say they are, but in the 10 years (?) I've been doing WCG communication has never been a strong point. |

Currently, WCG really looks like a drip infusion
---------------------------------------- The Windows host is running dry from time to time. Until now, the Linux hosts succeed to survive with very short queue. It is finally frustrating, in particular because there is no communication from the tech team. Cheers, Yves |

"WU shortage resolved: WUs are coming back. Earlier today one of the disks filled up on the mesos cluster and that stopped the createWork daemon from running, it looks like ARP1 workunit input jobs were then forced to run on less of the nodes, backed up, preventing other jobs from scheduling on the nodes, those jobs failed, causing the process of downloading/building MCM1 work to ramp down to basically nothing since createWork couldn't run." https://www.cs.toronto.edu/~juris/jlab/wcg.html |

I have a single ARP WU in progress, that was downloaded today. I did get some _2 and _3 MCM WUs earlier today but those are already gone (some completed, some server aborted).
I have switched two of my three crunchers to alternate projects. Only my part-time cruncher (8 hours per day) is still set for only WCG. Hopefully this gets sorted soon. |

I have only one (1) ARP task running.
31 execution threads waiting for something to do. |
