confused Support for Cool and Quiet

Hello,

I'va got an AMD Athlon 64 and don't want the world community grid client to rise the clockspeed while it is running. Is it possilbe to enable support for Cool and Quiet?

Thanks

PS: Is there a usenet / nntp server available to access this forum? Writing and reading such an HTML forum seems very anoying to me...

Re: Support for Cool and Quiet

It is unlikely that you will see technology specific to a specific processor manufacture's chips. However, the net effect of Cool and Quiet would be to limit the processing available to the World Community Grid projects. A feature was implemented some months back which will accomplish this by limiting the percentage of the CPU that can be taken by the World Community Grid. You can read about it here.

Best Regards,
