Re: The Extremes thread

I was just browsing my "task timelines" reports for ARP1 and found this one that I returned on 2024-11-05, only to have it get tagged Too Late almost at once... Please excuse the format :-), it's clipped from one of the reports (with some commentary removed!)

This is probably just one of many (of all three categories) that suffered the same fate; I can probably find more examples if I can find the time to dig deeper, but I'm not sure how useful it would actually be to do so...

It might be interesting if savas (or someone else) could give us an idea of how many WUs actually got marked as failed during this month's efforts!

Cheers - Al.

P.S. to Mike -- I agree about unnecessary retries; I keep posting about grace days in various threads, and have also mentioned the problems with [over]extending due time on tasks that have already been issued -- however, I don't think this is the right thread to pursue that further :-)

Tasks 0, 1, 2 and 4 went to Linux systems, the rest to Darwin systems. The two valid Darwin tasks were from OS version 24.1; Invalid tasks were from various versions (including 24.1).

At least this one didn't get any errors after the initial flurry :-)

Re: The Extremes thread

Hi Adri,
I've picked up:
ARP1_0033793_108, workunit ID 651828097;
ARP1_0034251_118, workunit ID 651798084.
They have only just come in. I'll try to remember to post the outcome when they've validated.
Cheers,
Mark

Re: The Extremes thread

Found ARP1_0034251_117_0 crunching away. Otherwise, nothing older than 127 in my current bunch.

Re: The Extremes thread

Hang on in there, spRocket! biggrin Now there's some interesting aspect to be seen:

You're crunching away at ARP1_0034251_117_0, as you mentioned, and at the same time Mark (thank you!) is already busy with the next generation (ARP1_0034251_118), see post 700958. smile

Here are the current details:

(generation 117)
workunit 651393193
ARP1_0034251_117_0 Linux Ubuntu InPrg 2025-01-21T23:46:44 2025-01-23T11:46:44 0.00/0.00 0.0/0.0
ARP1_0034251_117_1 Linux GNOME Valid 2025-01-21T23:47:11 2025-01-22T07:56:10 7.42/7.58 63.3/275.0
ARP1_0034251_117_2 Linux Ubuntu Valid 2025-01-21T23:47:19 2025-01-22T12:54:35 11.88/11.88 486.7/275.0

(generation 118)
workunit 651798084
ARP1_0034251_118_0 MSWin 11 InPrg 2025-01-22T13:47:32 2025-01-24T01:47:32 0.00/0.00 0.0/0.0
ARP1_0034251_118_1 MSWin 11 InPrg 2025-01-22T13:47:32 2025-01-24T01:47:32 0.00/0.00 0.0/0.0
ARP1_0034251_118_2 MSWin 11 InPrg 2025-01-22T13:47:31 2025-01-24T01:47:31 0.00/0.00 0.0/0.0

So, after reporting the second task from generation 117 at 2025-01-22T12:54:35 the validation took place and the next generation 118 was distributed at 2025-01-22T13:47:31, that's 53 minutes later. cool

Nice!
Adri

Re: The Extremes thread

Sorry - a bit late to the party...

Although I've seen quite a few of these, all bar one were generation 128 or above.

The only one that was a long way behind was ARP1_0033791_111_0 (workunit 650551219), which I returned late on 2025-01-20; one wingman returned it about 12 hours later (so it validated on 2025-01-21), the other one went No Reply.

Cheers - Al.

P.S. I have just received a couple of "Accelerated" tasks from generation 132, so it looks as if the flow of Extremes might slow down now...
