I've searched the Facebook, Twitter and Instagram social medias of Princess Margaret Cancer Center Research and the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation, they have never mentioned World Community Grid in any way nor mapping cancer markers. They recently made a post on Instagram about the number of volunteers and did not mention this effort. Athletic events and donations, but not promoting their distributed computing effort. I just wonder why they do not allocate any effort toward promoting this effort.

Hi danwat1234,
Although Princess Margaret Cancer Centre is also part of University Health Network (UHN), WCG is separate from Princess Margaret. WCG is supported by Dr. Jurisica's lab at the Krembil Research Institute, a different UHN research institute. For this reason, we would not expect Princess Margaret to acknowledge WCG in their communications. However, publications from UHN itself might be more likely to mention WCG. I hope this helps clear that up, but please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns about this! |

Thank you that clears it up. Krembil Institute doesn't seem to mention WCG on their social medias either. @KBI_UHN and @KrembilF. It would be great to see exposure outside of nerd-channels. Folding did it with console crunching and Covid Moonshot. SETI did too IMO.

Hi danwat1234,
----------------------------------------Thanks for pointing that out. WCG is mentioned on the Jurisica lab website, but I'll pass this feedback on to the team [Edit 1 times, last edit by TigerLily at Jul 19, 2024 6:26:14 PM] |

I would agree that WCG should get a mention every chance it can for all the work that is done here, it's just right and good PR.
