Re: Errors with Boinc Windows Client

Crunching WU's continues to go well with the Windows Client.

Goals are always a good way to achieve success in any project. I was wondering IF any kind of timeline had been set to attempt Teams output in the XML output. Presently, this is a weak area on WCG. We have teams but no way to look at a list of these teams in the manner that Boinc based projects do. I believe it fosters more interest than what we have now. Thanks for considering an answer to this question.

Hello Remember911,
http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=5169#41560

knreed says more about this elsewhere. What it boils down to is - he thinks this is important but his hands are full through January, so it is going to be a wait.

Here is his post about RSS feeds with UD-style team statistics: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=2023

Re: Errors with Boinc Windows Client

Thanks, for the link. I read the entire topic and see that you will at some point implement team xml stats. That is a very good thing and will result in a LOT of new folks crunching your WU's. We BOINC folks are used to waiting for changes. When it becomes easier for BOINC folks to join(especially Windows Boinc Folks to join), they will do so in droves. But right now it's a very hard sell to convince them to join, just for the good of the science. Most are very team loyal and this is a very strong motivation for doing the work.
