Aloha,
For a few months now, most (if not all) Mapping Cancer Markers 7.61 work units restart themselves after about 1-2 minutes of elapsed time. No other WCG work units demonstrate this issue, nor do any other BOINC projects that I'm running. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Any ideas for how to resolve this? The event log shows nothing when this occurs. This has persisted through a BOINC update (currently 7.24.2) and I'm running MacOS 12.7.3). |

This comes up occasionally - indeed there's even another thread about this on the first page...
Within that thread, someone cross-referenced this post of mine, from which I've extracted the following... there's a known issue with MCM1 tasks on some systems not getting out of set-up fast enough to avoid being knocked back by some sort of timer that assumes they've not set up properly. As that timer will be based on elapsed time rather than CPU time used, if you're regulating CPU temperature (or fan noise?) by reducing the "% of CPU time" it might cause that to happen If that isn't your issue, I'm not sure what else to suggest :-)Cheers - Al. |

Thanks. This seems to be a solution.
I looked through the first few pages here and tried searching, but I wasn't getting any hits with my terms. I was hoping someone who has been around a while would recognize it and point me the right way. Thanks! |
