Hi,
----------------------------------------trying to get some tasks for my cpu to work on. However, for the past some weeks I've only got this 14.12.2023 11.29.45 | World Community Grid | Not requesting tasks: don't need () any ideas? All cpu projects are selected |

Also,
----------------------------------------i have a bunch of machines on which I would only like to run GPU tasks. How can I do that? For those machiens I've seleceted a profile that only has OPNG project allowed and no CPU work is allowd. Yet my GPU clients will download work for MCM |

All cpu projects are selected -- Under <Options><Computing Preferences> under both options of Computer "In Use"/"Not in Use", do you have: 1) Use 100% of the CPU's for 80% (or some higher value)? 2) Store at least 1.0 days (or some higher value)? 3) Or are you using Web Prefs? -- It'd help the folks if you stopped BOINC and restarted it, then posted the first 30- or so lines out of your Event Log. Sounds like a settings value isn't set properly. Good luck! |

RE: GPU Tasks...
----------------------------------------GPU Tasks require some small portion of a CPU to compute a WU, so you can't completely turnoff CPU There *is* a way to turnoff individual subprojects (i.e. not allow MMC, etc) by manually modifying the XML config file -- you can find that information available by searching the forum (I can't recall exactly where but this subject was posted not long ago) [Edit 1 times, last edit by Spiderman at Dec 14, 2023 2:21:12 PM] |

I think this is it.
----------------------------------------https://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/Client_config...oject-level_configuration In file: Linux: boinc-client/projects/www.worldcommunitygrid.org/app_config.xml Windows: ProgramData/boinc/projects/www.worldcommunitygrid.org/app_config.xml <app_config> <app> <name>mcm1</name> <max_concurrent>0</max_concurrent> </app> </app_config> In that Berkeley doc I also see cpu and gpu parameters so that may also be of interest. Hi biini,
Please see this post and the conversation within the rest of the thread for details on this issue. While preferences can be adjusted on the WCG website, these preferences are not being respected by the BOINC client. The tech team is currently working on finding a fix. |

<app_config> <app> <name>mcm1</name> <max_concurrent>0</max_concurrent> </app> </app_config> In that Berkeley doc I also see cpu and gpu parameters so that may also be of interest. Thanks BobbyB, this worked |
