I just installed a better video card in my second computer and am trying to turn on run gpu. I keep getting an error and with no change.
The original card was too slow to run opng and this one has been in another computer, so I don't think it is the card. I changed the driver to the latest and still no luck. May this problem be related to the present problem of trying to report finished work units? Linux Mint 20.3 nvidia 1650 driver 535 |

Uh What? What is the error?
You haven't explained much, is the error on the BOINC side or on the Linux side? There aren't many GPU WU's in WCG and you are better off using a different project such as Numbersfield or Einstein |

"Error
Unfortunately, an error occurred while processing your request. You can try again or you can Contact Us and tell us about the error." When I try to change the gpu settings on the wcg website from no to yes and save the change I get the above message. I thought I had put the error message in the first post, sorry. |

No need to start a new thread when the issue has already been reported, see thread "Cannot update my Device Profile(s)" and post 691708 in that same thread, with an acknowledgement from TigerLily.

Not sure what this has got to do with a weekend in 2020.
I haven't been able to turn on GPU processing for a profile on many occasions. So I've never been able to use it. Slightly annoying therefore to see: Mon 04 Dec 2023 22:37:49 GMT | World Community Grid | Tasks for Intel GPU are available, but your preferences are set to not accept them in the logs.... |

Check to make sure your local preferences are not selected but are using web based.
----------------------------------------Also, are you connected directly to WCG or are you going through a consolidation server? [ETA] such as Science United. [Edit 1 times, last edit by bfmorse at Dec 4, 2023 11:40:34 PM] |

[ETA] such as Science United. Running from web based preferences. I am using boinc to connect. Is that what you mean? I have had problems before so I usually just shut everything down for a week or so and that seems to work. |

Check to make sure your local preferences are not selected but are using web based. Surely irrelevant. It's the WCG web site which reports Error when trying to add a GPU to a profile. |
