2023-11-27 Update (MCM1 work unit issue)

We have been alerted to the fact that volunteers are not receiving any new MCM1 work units. Our tech team is currently working to investigate and resolve this issue, and we will continue to provide updates as they investigate this situation.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Re: 2023-11-27 Update (MCM1 work unit issue)

TigerLily,
I see the following major issues:
1) Valids are not being purged. In my case I have over 81,000 Valids not purged
2) No MCM1 work units.
3) It appears the OP GPUs WUs have stopped as well. They were infrequent. They now seem to be nonexistent.

Re: 2023-11-27 Update (MCM1 work unit issue)

Didn't this issue happen once or twice under IBM as well? I seem to recall the techs saying that when purging doesn't occur, the database fills up and then system can't distribute new tasks as there are no available slots in the DB to record them.

Not sure if it is the same thing this time, but definitely worth checking out.

Well, such issues did occur occasionally under IBM's watch, but unfortunately, for the last year and a half, this has become a rather too frequent event... sad

TigerLilly,

As of this moment, I see that my oldest VALID MCM1 WU is still there;

BUT,

Thanks to your tech team's work, the WU's are now being released in a brisk manner along with some resends probably complements of people with queue's too large.
