Right. And now another day and, since it is a weekend, nothing will be done for at least two more days. There are no adults in the room.

Another long term user here that can't do anything with their device settings. This is deplorable.
----------------------------------------I was put on a moderation list for criticising the amateur web design and gross oversimplification of beloved badge graphics, saying WITHOUT PROFANITY OR ABUSE (which I was falsely accused of by the IBM moderator) that it was done by someone's ten year old that needs to put down the blue crayon, and now it seems that same ten year old is handling the server administration. Yes, I'm highly irritated by the massive drop in service quality and competence of the administration of this project and I am far from the only one! ![]() Currently being moderated under false pretences |

Yes, I managed to change the setting to allow beta testing WU. So it looks like it has been fixed.
Thanks to all involved in sorting this. I am just wondering ... I use local prefs on my machine, will the beta testing setting still take effect or do I need to temporarily or permanently change to web preferences. Any advice gratefully received. Thanks |

Well the WEBPAGE is now working, but it's not sending the updated settings to the client.

Well the WEBPAGE is now working, but it's not sending the updated settings to the client. Cute. Yep, same nonsense here. Device Profile page is there and I can update it without an error, but those changes DO NOT get sent to the BOINC clients. |

Even a non-client action such as altering per-application maximum active task numbers in the profile doesn't seem to be happening.
When I encountered something like this (not BOINC-related) once in the past it turned out that the part of the transfer system between databases that emulated the expected input/update procedures for the target database was issuing the inserts and/or updates but had an exit path that never actually committed them to the database (oops!) -- I doubt this issue is that simple, however... Cheers - Al. |
