I'm getting no new tasks from any WCG project. I've ran out of work even when I have 10 days of work and 10 days of additional work and my computer STILL RAN OUT OF WORK and no news on why they ran out of all project work or their system is down.
I only have WCG for CPUs to fetch and now it's idling. Don't mine that I have no task to run for WCG but having no work units for all projects is something else. The latest news is from October 8th is that the "SCC1 work units are running low and may run out over the weekend but OPNG and MCM1 supply is good". If their good then I still should be getting something? Other than GPU work that I had off. 10/18/2023 8:33:00 PM | World Community Grid | update requested by user 10/18/2023 8:33:03 PM | World Community Grid | Sending scheduler request: Requested by user. 10/18/2023 8:33:03 PM | World Community Grid | Requesting new tasks for CPU and NVIDIA GPU 10/18/2023 8:33:08 PM | World Community Grid | Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks 10/18/2023 8:33:08 PM | World Community Grid | Project has no tasks available 10/18/2023 8:35:23 PM | World Community Grid | Sending scheduler request: To fetch work. 10/18/2023 8:35:23 PM | World Community Grid | Requesting new tasks for CPU and NVIDIA GPU 10/18/2023 8:35:27 PM | World Community Grid | Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks 10/18/2023 8:35:27 PM | World Community Grid | No tasks sent 10/18/2023 8:35:27 PM | World Community Grid | No tasks are available for OpenPandemics - COVID 19 10/18/2023 8:35:27 PM | World Community Grid | No tasks are available for OpenPandemics - COVID-19 - GPU 10/18/2023 8:35:27 PM | World Community Grid | No tasks are available for Africa Rainfall Project 10/18/2023 8:35:27 PM | World Community Grid | No tasks are available for Help Stop TB 10/18/2023 8:35:27 PM | World Community Grid | No tasks are available for Mapping Cancer Markers 10/18/2023 8:35:27 PM | World Community Grid | No tasks are available for Smash Childhood Cancer 10/18/2023 8:35:27 PM | World Community Grid | Project requested delay of 121 seconds |

Yes, my machines have run dry, too. Lots of WUs are still waiting for validation so I am still getting points trickling in but no work.
----------------------------------------The last WU I received was sent at this time: 2023-10-19 01:42:12 UTC Nothing after that. [Edit 1 times, last edit by D_S_Spence at Oct 19, 2023 9:00:09 PM] |

hmmm, did you just say you run a twenty (20) day queue?
I was under the impression that regular WUs expire at 6-days and resends at 3-days. Have I been misinformed? WCG, DENIS@home and Rosetta@home's WU cupboards are also bare. I have shut down all but six of my systems to conserve electricity. If things continue as that have been, I may pare that back further. |

Denis@Home has been good (off and on, but getting a good amount when their floodgates open), had great luck with Milkyway@Home as well.

You guys need to get it together. Not only are CPU work units extremely sparse, but often times it takes several updates on BOINC Manager before completed work units successfully upload.
----------------------------------------Right now I have 34 completed work units that are stuck in ready to report and have failed to upload for over a day due to project communication failing and because the project servers may be down according to the Event Log, and some of them deadline tomorrow so if they they don't upload by then it'll have been wasted CPU resources and heat that could've been spent running a project that does actually run reliably. The way this project is being ran is a disaster. If there's few work units and you can't even get what you have completed uploaded successfully sometimes, then frankly: what is the point? Leaving your system idle just waiting to see if you get a few work units is a waste of resources, as is waiting multiple failed attempts to upload completed work units. At this point I'm considering removing the project and stop contributing due to all the ongoing reliability issues that never seem to get resolved and how little communication there is regarding what is being done to address these issues.

BOINC Central is based on BOINC - a system for "volunteer computing", allowing people around the world to donate computing power to science research.
----------------------------------------BOINC Central: gives scientists access to the power of volunteer computing without having to operate a BOINC server. supports widely-used science applications, such as Autodock Vina from the Scripps Research Institute, with versions for a range of computing platforms lets scientists from academic research institutions submit jobs for these applications. is operated by the U.C. Berkeley BOINC project Scientists: if you're interested in computing using BOINC Central, please contact us. |

In the past when something like this has happened, they have extended the deadline so the completed WU results aren't lost. We should have some clarity tomorrow when the team is back in the office, I expect.
