Re: GPU MIssing?

You have probably an active suspend situation. Check your settings see https://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/Editing_compu...es_with_the_BOINC_Manager.

Re: GPU MIssing?

additional Information:

ETA: "Using web prefs from http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/"

GPU not shown in (Windows 10 Home) Task Manager, Performance tab (system not able to upgrade to Win11) but, system has all available updates.

Recent OPNG WU activity:
Result name Device name Status Sent time Time due Return time Cpu time/ Elapsed time Claimed credit/ Granted credit

OPNG_0193691_00276_1 DESKTOP-068BQCD In Progress 2023-09-18 10:30:46 UTC 2023-09-21 10:30:46 UTC

OPNG_0192175_00083_0 DESKTOP-068BQCD Pending Validation 2023-09-15 18:14:17 UTC 2023-09-18 18:14:17 UTC 2023-09-16 05:26:07 UTC 0.15 / 9.83 58.6 / 0

The first WU is the one reporting the error.
The second WU had been completed before the GPU "vanished"

in BOINC Manager (advanced view), under the ACTIVITY tab there are only two sections: RUN selection and NETWORK selection the GPU section is totally absent.
BOINC Manager Version: 7.24.1 (x64)

Next step is for me to check BIOS to see if there is something obvious there then will update this thread.

Re: GPU MIssing?

You can look at the first 10 lines or so in the file stdoutdae.txt located in the Boinc data directory to see if the GPU is recognized and if there are other clues that explain the situation.

Re: GPU MIssing?

Is it possible that there is a problem with the GPU device driver?
Settings
search for 'device manager'
expand the Display Adapter section
right click and select Properties
Does the information look correct?

Re: GPU MIssing?

If it is Newest Nvidia driver .

Ok . In Geforce Experince and in setting person need to activate experimental functions and then restart pc to keep it going . Otherwise it wont react .

Re: GPU MIssing?

GPU Device Driver Settings appeared OK.

I did not notice where I could activate experimental functions so was not able to evaluate that possible solution.

But, I recalled that the problem first started to occur when the most recent "Adobe Creative Cloud" update was installed. I attempted to "repair" the install, the problem went away briefly but then returned.

I decided that since I do not use "Adobe Creative Cloud", I might as well uninstall it.

Uninstall finally worked and the GPU is now accessible to BOINC.
Will continue to monitor and update.
