how are you getting tasks? OT

I know this is a bit OT, but... how are people getting any kind of tasks, much less getting OPNG? From my History page on this site, the last task of any kind I got is 2023-08-02. My WCG project is active, set to get new tasks, and set to the highest "Resource share" (200) of any of my projects. Yet I haven't gotten anything in a month and a half.

How have some of you apparently gotten new tasks in the last few days? Does WCG just not like my anymore? crying

Thanks.

Doug

P.S. I was bad and posted OT here because this is the only thread that appears at all active. None of the others appear to have been posted to in a month or more. Apologies.

Hi Doug,
Tell us a bit about your system: OS, etc.

Re: how are you getting tasks? OT

Doug,

I had one Windows system that stopped getting WU's several months back. I upgraded the Client to the latest release and everything went back to working (no need to uninstall which is good since it keeps the HostID).

That was only (1) system and I've not seen since.

I've not seen that ever occur on the Linux boxes (though there's not been a new BONC Client release for it in quite awhile).

Providing the above in case it helps...

no mention of world community grid (which is the project we discuss here). Does no mention mean 'anything goes' or 'nothing goes' ?

Anything goes - there is no App-Config to restrict it.

Re: how are you getting tasks? OT

Hi,
In the Boinc Manager, try removing and then adding WCG again.

Re: how are you getting tasks? OT

OPNG tasks have become available since Friday (9/15) again, before there was a several week long hiatus from WCGs side.
It is however strange that out of 6 GPU capable hosts, only one gets a "regular" amount of OPNG WUs since Friday. one gets a smaller numbers of WUs, while the other 4 didn't get any, as far as I was able to check over the weekend...All of them are Windows 10 hosts with various NVidia GPUs...
