I am now getting multiple units with processing time in excess of 100days but with a deadline of only 2 days.
This has been happening off/on the last 2 weeks but it's definitely getting worse. I would love to show the units but I can not seem to find a way to include my saved pic. |

Units that have run for 100 days? Or WUs (work units) that have a end date 100 days in the future? If you have a unit that has run for more than 2x the exected run time, then it should be aborted. Linux or windows?
I have only seen one of WU that went over its expected run time (MCMs on my computers from from 1:05 to 1:43 HH:MM). |

Op System = Win11 64bit
WU's are running for 2+days with an estimated end remaining 100+days Their deadlines are 22nd/23rd so I'll see what happens on the 24th. |

Try doing a graceful reboot of your system after SUSPENDING the WU's.
You have also not indicated what the operating system is. |

The 1st line of my previous entry stated Op Sys = Win11 64bit
Found a way to send the info on 1 WU :- Application Mapping Cancer Markers 7.61 Name MCM1_0200421_5092 State Running Received 16/06/2023 21:35:40 Report deadline 22/06/2023 21:35:41 Estimated computation size 33,016 GFLOPs CPU time 04:44:06 CPU time since checkpoint 04:36:18 Elapsed time 2d 11:55:28 Estimated time remaining 389d 02:57:17 Fraction done 0.638% Virtual memory size 76.37 MB Working set size 1.88 MB Directory slots/23 Process ID 153236 Executable wcgrid_mcm1_map_7.61_windows_x86_64 |

CPU time 04:44:06 CPU time since checkpoint 04:36:18 Elapsed time 2d 11:55:28 Estimated time remaining 389d 02:57:17 Fraction done 0.638% You definitely have something going on. It appears your CPU is doing nothing but churning, unless you have the equivalent of an old 8088. Try looking at task manager and see what that says. You might also try Process lasso and see if that points you in any direction. Did the reboot help ? Cheers

Processor = AMD Ryzen 9 3950X 16-Core Processor 3.50 GHz
This started happening 2ish wks ago but only affects 50% of the WU's with the rest working as normal. The PX has been rebooted a few times,I have ran SFC and checked all normal things with no errors showing. Re Task Manager it gets a bit funny.It shows my CPU running at 49% constantly - no fluctuation.I've posted on M/S & MSI (my mobo) boards and the only reply was Win11 TM struggles with AMD ??. However I run with MSI's Open Hardware Monitor & it shows 100% on all CPU's. I have other tools and they all show 100% working. I'll try your Process Lasso on Monday but I'm not optimistic. |

Well I have no XP of Linux so giving that a miss especially as my other PC (Intel) is processing WU's completely normally.
I've opted to completely uninstall Boinc,delete it and re-install. I'm hoping something got 'screwed' in the file/s but only time will tell if I'm right. Thanks for your help. |
