The new SCC work units focus on new drug targets for EWS-FLI-1.

A link to the paper on the British Journal of Cancer would be appreciated.
Thanks for the update.

Probably this one based on subject and authors. https://www.nature.com/articles/s41416-023-02222-0

Re: SCC work units for FLI-1 and MyoD1 targets

Awesome. Crunching a few units first and see how they perform. Quorum of two or one? I'm guessing if my rig validates the first ten tasks successfully, it will revert to quorum of one? I guess I'll find out soon.

Edit: Just curious, will the SCC project status change from "intermittent" to "active" or there are limited tasks (how many approx) for these two targets just like the previous targets completed in 2020, 2019, etc. See past work pattern here

Anyway, thanks for the update.

Cyclops, are you able to comment on the work availability for the SCC project? With OPN apparently winding down in the next month, and ARP highly inconsistent, I was wondering what the supply of SCC tasks is going to look like. A quick look at my Results page shows that SCC tasks are making up only about 6% of the tasks my devices are receiving (currently, 537 SCC tasks in progress out of about 8900 total).

Thanks!

Hi Aperture_Science_Innovators, the availability of SCC1 workunits is slightly less common than MCM1 and OPNG units due to their larger size potentially causing a strain on our download/upload pipeline.

Do you know if this is likely to change going forward, as OPN[G] drops off (& with it the load on the system)? It's a much bigger split than I'd have imagined if the scientists have a plentiful supply of the SCC WUs for us to process.

Thanks!

Strange, that...

The ligand files aren't very big for SCC1 or OPN1/G, but the returned files for OPNG are a lot larger than those for current SCC1 work (the latter being well under 10Kb at present).

Also, I believe OPN1/OPNG downloads the receptor file with each task, whereas SCC1 seems to create a sticky file instead (and it's a somewhat smaller receptor anyway!)

So how does SCC1 have larger size? I'm curious to know... Or is there an issue because there are a lot more results being requested and/or returned as the tasks are (in general) quicker than MCM1 (on Linux, anyway!)?

Yours confusedly - Al.

P.S. I could understand the constraints if ARP1 was under discussion! :-)

[Edit: added remark about receptor download...]

Yeah, that didn't make any sense to me either. Also, there must be in Toronto a different definition of "slightly less common".
Without doing an exact count, I get about 50% MCM1, 45% OPN1 and OPNG, 3% SCC and maybe 1% ARP1. And there is no sighting of HST WUs so far either.
