Hi Grumpy Swede, you wrote:
The idea of these kind of threads is to post the batch number, and not what you are doing I see.BTW is the numbers in that list tasks from batches that you have crunched If you open the link that I've posted and read the first line of it, it says:# Each hour, each successfully validated SCC1-task that I've run will be looked up, If you're interested, as you can see, there are some blank spots in the list. When I started the list, it was fairly easy to 'score' a task in a certain range (a sequence of 10,000 tasks). However, now that the distribution speed of the batches has increased, it's harder to obtain a task in each and every range. Still, my highest batch is 0004222 currently. Adri |

@adriverhoef
Your list is invalid in this thread. Here and on other "highest batch" threads, we do post our highest batch "manually", and not in some html linked list. Do you really expect that people should click on your link every time, to find out if your batches are higher than what they have? If you don't want to play the "game", as it always has been played, then just don't play at all. So just simply post your highest batch in the way we do it in these threads, and move on, so we can continue from your highest batch. As of now, it is invisible in this thread, since you only posted a link to your highest batch list. Until then, we are still at Crystal Pellet's SCC1_0004204, as far as this thread is concerned. @Hans Sveen: Han ger inte upp i första taget, verkar det som. Svårt att förstå enkla trådregler kanske? Vad ska man säga? |

The "highest batch" threads for OPN1 and OPNG might be fun for those with a competitive streak, but they also serve a reasonable purpose because the work does usually come along in [roughly] ascending batch order.
I only occasionally posted in the OPN1/OPNG threads and had decided that there was no point posting here given the way that SCC1 work seems to turn up in fairly substantial numbers of batches for each individual target and there might be work for more than one target at the same time -- a better [competitive] progress indicator might include the target name (which appears in the task names...) and might avoid the prolonged periods of silence seen herein... If anyone had made a post in the middle of July it might have killed the thread for now -- for instance, I could've posted about SCC1_0004222_FLI1-A_99754 some time after 01:48:44 (UTC) on 2023-07-17 :-), which could have been a show-stopper. for now... When they sorted out the MyoD1-C batches none of those lower batch numbers would have been worth posting without the target qualifier or some other note about lower batches finally appearing... In the end it comes down to purpose -- if it's a social function that's one thing (and, as I mentioned above, perhaps include the target name?), but if it's also meant to be a monitor of progress, it doesn't really work (and I recall Grumpy Swede wondering about that very near the top of the thread!) Cheers - Al. P.S. I do hope the purpose isn't just to increase post counts :-) -- isn't that what the Chat Room is for??? |

Hmmm -- that's a show-stopper if ever there was one :-)
----------------------------------------I've had a few of these too; I wonder if they are just a special out-of-sequence batch, or whether they are repaired WUs that had previously thrown errors but have not been re-released with the same batch and item numbers. It'll be interesting to see whether there are other super-high batch numbers or not and, if so, how many... Cheers - Al. [Edit 1 times, last edit by alanb1951 at Aug 22, 2023 8:35:49 PM] |
