Re: BOINC System Restart

That whole "streak" thing is nonsense anyway. Anyone who consistently crunches will have nothing but a continuous counter.

That's what the "longest streak" will show for almost everyone (who was crunching already before the shutdown and transfer in February last year. The "current"/"active" streak, beside a couple of days where WCG "thought" they would be backup and running has always been 0 (zero).

And IMHO, this is the last thing they should even waste one minute on, it just doesn't serve any purpose...

Couldn't agree more. Complete and utter waste of time.

Re: BOINC System Restart

Hi Cyclops,

Ralf, BFMorse, and 1-2 others have mentioned the WU Validator doesn't seem to be percolating too smoothly. Poking-around I see some of my processes are 29-hours+ in PV, including the Wingman's resultset who came-in behind me.

I was waiting on opening more machines back up to WCG once I saw the work being validated (in fact I have (2) new machines that someone took an interest in my FB Post concerning the MCM Project & donated for that purpose -- I want to see if they show-up tomorrow in the Device List).

Good Friday is tomorrow. Many offices, industries, etc, take that as a Holiday here in the US (unsure about Canada) so I was wondering if the Validator process would be cranked-up higher before then or not. [Or perhaps it's just so busy chewing on all the previous results, unsure.]

Thanks as always...

Hi Spiderman, we are aware of the validator situation and are working to fix it soon. The validator will be running like normal over the long weekend.

That the validator is/was running only on Valium has been an issue for weeks before the hardware crash. I don't expect a fix in less than 48h now.
And I think this is a larger underlying problem somewhere, as I now have three machines that have been added to my mix in the last week, and while their results are showing up in "Results", they are not showing up in the device list, which has been mentioned by some folks for months. And it seems that there is even with the validator "somewhat" running right now, a discrepancy in the amount (both points and runtime) of what is being credited right now...
