Hi, everybody.
So, approximately a few months ago, I posted something on these forums, a question about using an Xbox One to run World Community Grid (which would apparently involve having to download Linux to it). Sorry, but I can't find that thread again. However, I would like to download WGC to 1 or 2 iPads and run it on those; how would I do that? Thanks again. |

Hi, everybody. So, approximately a few months ago, I posted something on these forums, a question about using an Xbox One to run World Community Grid (which would apparently involve having to download Linux to it). Sorry, but I can't find that thread again. That's a pity, because it's so simple: there is a Search option. Two, in fact. At the top of the forum pages you'll find two options to seek through the forums. Try the rightmost 'search' and type: xbox Then type RETURN or click the 'search' button. Next, you'll see your most recent posts with 'xbox' in it. Try the 'Search' to the right of 'My Forum Profile' (Index | Recent Threads | …) by clicking the link with the text 'Search' and type your username in the box 'By Login Name', then click the box 'Search' (between 'Result per page' and the box 'Reset'). Presto! All your posts. However, I would like to download WGC to 1 or 2 iPads and run it on those; how would I do that? I would try searching Google for "run boinc on ipad" and go from there. https://boinc.berkeley.edu/dev/forum_thread.php?id=14202 https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/boinc.2266977/ https://www.mail-archive.com/boinc_dev@ssl.berkeley.edu/msg04375.html https://www.bradleyknockel.com/vComputing.html This last link says: "If you have any iOS device (iPhone or iPad), you cannot use Folding@home or BOINC. Same for a Chromebook, though there are rumors of tricky ways to get BOINC to work on a Chromebook (good luck). BOINC runs on Android though! By the way, most tech people prefer Android and real laptops over iOS and Chromebooks. Adri |
