I just noticed that Several ( a lot ) Open Pandemics and Mapping Cancer Marker tasks has been running on my PC for 10 hours - and remaining (estimated) range from 3 days to 2 days.
----------------------------------------This is strange as normal run length for Mapping Cancer Marker is 1 hour 17 minutes. 1) Is there any penalty (other than wasted running time) to abort tasks? In case in the future I might need abort up to 17 tasks? Will the server consider my PC unreliable? Anyway I have decided to abort around 4 tasks (the 3 days and 2 days) and I observed that the remaining finally get their act together - as in the minutes are reduced quite fast ( some task have minutes reduced in the seconds) so that from 1 day and 20 hours starting to slowly reduced to under 24 hours. Quite sad really to look at almost 11 hours elapsed time, since at 17 running task, around 170 work units could have been completed. I did copy the log so I know the aborted work units in case admin want to know. |

For some unknown reason sometimes a machine will churn. I personally have never had this happen on any of my machines, but, in the past others have said doing restart loosened the logjam and the unit would continue per normal. Worth a try anyway.
