Hi there,
I am wondering why my badges seem not to update in any way. My milestones/badges dont show any progress since Nov. 6, 2021 but i am still crunching a lot. Any Ideas what i can do? Kind Regards Ciannicay |

It feels like "Mapping Cancer Markers" and "Open Pandemics" should have added a badge in the timeline since Nov 2021.
But how can i find out if my feeling is right? |

Your next badge for "Mapping Cancer Markers" is not due until you hit 2 years and the next one for "OPN" is 20 years. Have you hit those milestones yet ? Cheers

I finally located the times for the various badges. These are all for beta testing but apply to all studies:
It seems that the colours are somewhat alternating in chronological order and that they're not some random choice: Looks like the general rule of thumb is roughly doubling the previous time. You now have the means to determine which badges you may be missing. Happy crunching! |

I am missng badges as units were returned during the time stats were not being updated.
----------------------------------------Likely many others in the same boat. I keep rough track using WUProp. Rough as they use elapsed hours and WCG count CPU hours, plus they had some downtimes. Paul.

I am missng badges as units were returned during the time stats were not being updated. Looking at what badges you have for those projects that are still active (when they are active) since Sept 29th, 2022 (and only those are likely to count for the time being towards any new badges), you are actually quite some time away from any new ones (not knowing how close you could have been at shutdown in Feb 2022). You have 20y MCM1, 10y OPN1 and 5y APR1, with the next badges 50y MCM, 20y OPN1 and 10y APR1.That's (more than) double of what you have badges for right now!Likely many others in the same boat. I keep rough track using WUProp. Rough as they use elapsed hours and WCG count CPU hours, plus they had some downtimes. Paul. I had just past the 100y OPN1 a short while before the shutdown, had 82y on MCM1 and 6y at ARP1. And i would guess that on average, I get at least twice the amount of runtime towards badges as you. And so far, I have +14y of MCM1, 7y of OPN1 and a whooping 73d of ARP1 towards any of my new badges since 9/29. With no download errors, I am getting around 70 days of runtime per calendar day, which is easily to be verified on the "Overview" page. I don't even think about a 200y badge on OPN1 for the time being (that's 92y of runtime away still), ARP1 are always rare as hen's teeth, though at the current pace (and no further hiccups), this could mean I should get the 100y MCM1 in about 15-16 days or roughly around Jan 20, 2023. How much is that you get on each of those active projects? The graph and stats on the Overview page should be all you need to tell how much progress you're making... It would seem unlikely that you should already have new badges either (again, unless you were already reasonable close at shutdown)., unless you added some serious crunching power since the restart (or better, since restart of the internal stats on Sep 29th, 2022)... As for the OP, he far lower in the "productivity", going by the badges he DOES have, so unless he was also already very close to a new one at the shutdown in Feb. Specially since he repeatedly stated a date of November 2021, which would be 3-4 months before the shutdown and transfer to Krembil, and it is now just 3 months, with a lot of hickups, since the stats are being created after the Krembil stats (with any stats, including badges!, from the first sending of WUs in June 2022 until Sep 28th, 2022, still only a remote promise). So I guess that his expectations in that regards are a bit unrealistic... Ralf |

Ralf,
----------------------------------------I was quite close at shutdown and re-started soon after re-opening. Below extract from spreadsheet I maintain: From WCG: OpenPandemics - COVID-19 19:261:19:16:16 Africa Rainfall Project.. 9:334:16:00:14 From WUProp (adjusted): YY.yyy Days difference OpenPandemics - COVID19 20.147 157 Africa Rainfall Project 10.004 32 Appears hours earned before stats re-started are not (yet) counted. Paul.

Paul. This is a long shot, but could the difference in the figures be attributed to the difference in the way WCG counts time vs, the way WUProp counts time ? Cheers

Ralf, Yes, that that been mentioned several times (and "some people" always got on my back for being too negative) that everyone should expect that everything done from June 2022 to Sep 28th, 2022 is going to be lost. There has been a promise that this might be restored (from whatever source), but still don't believe until I see it. I was quite close at shutdown and re-started soon after re-opening. Below extract from spreadsheet I maintain: From WCG: OpenPandemics - COVID-19 19:261:19:16:16 Africa Rainfall Project.. 9:334:16:00:14 From WUProp (adjusted): YY.yyy Days difference OpenPandemics - COVID19 20.147 157 Africa Rainfall Project 10.004 32 Appears hours earned before stats re-started are not (yet) counted. Paul. No idea what WUProp is and how exactly it works (is this one of Adrian's tools?) but as far as the difference goes, it's roughly 35 days of runtime for APR1 and 250 days for OPN1. Going by your daily returns, how many calendar days would that be for you? I know there can be in terms of points (that what most people are concerned about) is sometimes half a calendar day of difference between the stats runs of WCG internally and external sites, as those stats runs don't happen at the same time (quite logically)... As mentioned, the next new badge for me would be due in roughly 2 weeks time (100y MCM1), will see what happens to me then... Ralf PS: Didn't you also have problem with add/renamed devices? |
