My main linux workstation stopped downloading new tasks. So I tried disabling then enabling the network with boinccmd, that didn't help. I bit the bullet and deleted everything (no files / directories named '*boinc*' left) and reinstalled.
I got 1 OPN task (so have 87 idle cpus ) Debugging got me these messages:
so how do I get rid of that 'can't fetch CPU: project is backed off' ? Boinc-client/libboinc7 are reported as version 7.16.6+dfsg-1. |

125: 17-Dec-2022 18:58:31 (low) [] [work_fetch] No project chosen for work fetch Check your device profile and see if you actually have any projects checked and see how many you are allowing. It possibly looks like you only have GPU tasks enabled. Cheers

I see
Available Projects All | None X OpenPandemics - COVID-19 X Africa Rainfall Project • Please review the system requirements before opting to participate in this project X Help Stop TB X Mapping Cancer Markers X Smash Childhood Cancer Please note: Some projects may occasionally have periods where no work is available. If you choose to receive work for only one project, the project may, at times, not have work units available for download. For this reason, we recommend that you select more than one project. X If there is no work available for the project(s) I have selected above, please send me work from another project. X Please opt me in to new projects as they become available. in short, I have selected all available projects. Also, I just have a single 'Default' profile which is set to 'maximum output' - which works fine on two other systems that share that profile. I'm confused. |

Based on my observations, it appears that they are not releasing any new WU.
Virtually all the WU’s I HAVE seen are those attempting to finish off incomplete quorum’s. The lack of new WU’s on my systems is leaving a lot of processors idle and no queue of “waiting” WU. I previously sent an email to the support team about the potential issue and hopefully they will respond to the forums. But time will tell. So, the problem is NOT caused by anything that you have done or not done. The problem is caused by something that is configured at Krembil! |

so have 87 idle cpus crying Tn-Grid has all kinds of WUs. It's keeping my 4 PCs busy right now.Now if I could only find a parameter to just get Tn-Grid when WCG runs dry. (hint: asking if there is) Bryn Mawr (2 posts above) is 3 positions in front of me at 92. [Edit 1 times, last edit by BobbyB at Dec 18, 2022 2:35:13 PM] |

I haven't gotten any WUs for OPN on either Ubuntu or my Mac. Seems like the cow has gone dry. There's been a problem downloading WUs for a few days on both, also.
Guess we need to wait til that cow moos again, huh? |

Now if I could only find a parameter to just get Tn-Grid when WCG runs dry. (hint: asking if there is) There is, for recent BOINC versions. Set Project Weight to 0 on other project(s). Work is only fetched if non-zero projects have none. Rosetta and SiDock also have tasks. DENIS should return next year. Paul.
