Completed, Valid Workunits in category Extreme
This thread is dedicated to workunits in the category Extreme that have completed with Valid results.

Workunits in the category Extreme are defined by their maximum generation. The actual maximum generations for the three categories Extreme, Accelerated and Normal of ARP1-workunits can be found in the file state.txt.

This workunit had three tasks distributed initially (names ending in _0, _1, _2).
Their deadline was 1½ days initially, so it seems.
Task _2 was not started before its deadline and was aborted by the client.
Task _1 was started before its deadline, but didn't end before it.
With two tasks not started after 1½ days and Replication value 3, another two were distributed on 2022-10-07.
After _1 was returned, task _3 got Server Aborted, while _4 was already running.
Task _4 was finally returned after 12 hours and 7 minutes.

You're right that Extremes should be quorum 2, initial replication 3, and it does indeed seem to work out quite well now. Accelerated units are initial replication 2 instead, but both types have deadline 3 days instead of the normal 6, so it needs the algorithm for picking viable hosts to work properly...

Because of the shortened deadline, I'd not be too worried about No Reply (or Not Started by Deadline) on these while there are download issues -- I've had it take over 8 hours to collect ARP1 tasks when I'm not around, so I can see how slower [but capable] machines might have occasional difficulties returning work in time even if they have relatively small caches.

That said, it's irritating to see repeat "offenders" on the 6-day deadline "Normal" tasks (and there are some, as there are for MCM1 and OPN1 too!)

P.S. My Ryzen 3700X was one of your wingmen on 9973, 33318 and 33795 -- I guess you run a lot more ARP1 tasks at the same time than I do, given comparative run times :-)

I do believe that those 33000 numbers were amongst the ones that required adjustment to their time steps to progress in IBM days.

For what it's worth, there have been previous reported sightings of ARP1_0034520, one of which was post-migration... This cell has advanced 12 generations since then, at an average of around 9.1 days per generation :-)

P.S. Hopefully, Extreme tasks tend not to go out to systems that have download errors (at least, not after the first occasion!) as it should cancel the "reliable" flag for ARP1 for that host - looks like [most of] the Errors here are "Not Started by Deadline", given the time stamps...

I have just received 9973_110_9. This is a record for me. So far there have been 1 x Pending Validation, 3 x Error (2@36 hours + 1@49 hours), 4 x No Reply and 2 x In Progress.

Mine is at 12%.

I have just received 9973_110_9. This is a record for me.
It sure is, Mike, I'm convinced that no-one has ever experienced such a high digit in the past few years. Could you provide its workunit-ID, please?

I wonder if the digit will ever turn into a two digit number or if there's a hard limit. In case a two digit number turns up, I will have to revise (some of) my WCGtools programs.
