This thread is dedicated to workunits in the category Extreme that have completed with Valid results.
Workunits in the category Extreme are defined by their maximum generation. The actual maximum generations for the three categories Extreme, Accelerated and Normal of ARP1-workunits can be found in the file state.txt. workunit 177546095: ($ wcgstats -wIrrr -=ARP1_0033318_121) App: Africa Rainfall Project |

This seems to be typical for Extremes: Minimum Quorum: 2 Replication: 3 ... and it seems to work out good so far! ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by adriverhoef at Nov 6, 2022 10:51:56 AM] |

Adri,
You're right that Extremes should be quorum 2, initial replication 3, and it does indeed seem to work out quite well now. Accelerated units are initial replication 2 instead, but both types have deadline 3 days instead of the normal 6, so it needs the algorithm for picking viable hosts to work properly... Because of the shortened deadline, I'd not be too worried about No Reply (or Not Started by Deadline) on these while there are download issues -- I've had it take over 8 hours to collect ARP1 tasks when I'm not around, so I can see how slower [but capable] machines might have occasional difficulties returning work in time even if they have relatively small caches. That said, it's irritating to see repeat "offenders" on the 6-day deadline "Normal" tasks (and there are some, as there are for MCM1 and OPN1 too!) Cheers - Al. P.S. My Ryzen 3700X was one of your wingmen on 9973, 33318 and 33795 -- I guess you run a lot more ARP1 tasks at the same time than I do, given comparative run times :-) |

Guys
I do believe that those 33000 numbers were amongst the ones that required adjustment to their time steps to progress in IBM days. Mike |

MJH333:
Adri, That was an interesting addition, Mark, that workunitId. I decided to try some more workunitIds in that vicinity. (As you may know, it is possible to see any workunit if you have their IDs.) This is what I found:I had this one: Workunit Id: 203176875 [snip---8<---snip---8<---snip] ![]() Edited to add workunit id.
PS. If you're quick, you might find that some links still work, the others have already been purged. ![]() |

Adri,
----------------------------------------For what it's worth, there have been previous reported sightings of ARP1_0034520, one of which was post-migration... This cell has advanced 12 generations since then, at an average of around 9.1 days per generation :-) Cheers - Al. P.S. Hopefully, Extreme tasks tend not to go out to systems that have download errors (at least, not after the first occasion!) as it should cancel the "reliable" flag for ARP1 for that host - looks like [most of] the Errors here are "Not Started by Deadline", given the time stamps... I have just received 9973_110_9. This is a record for me. So far there have been 1 x Pending Validation, 3 x Error (2@36 hours + 1@49 hours), 4 x No Reply and 2 x In Progress.
Mine is at 12%. Mike |

Al:
----------------------------------------Adri, That's correct, I was the one who returned ARP1_0034520_106_0 on 21-07-2022. For what it's worth, there have been previous reported sightings of ARP1_0034520, one of which was post-migration... ![]() I don't know if it's needed, but I'm just keeping track of Extreme workunit sightings. ![]() This cell has advanced 12 generations since then, at an average of around 9.1 days per generation :-) Right, Al!In the meantime... Happy for device SC-202011021032 to report that the "No Reply" turned into a Valid: Result name Status Sent time Due / Return time CPUtime/Elapsed Claimed/Granted P.S. Hopefully, Extreme tasks tend not to go out to systems that have download errors (at least, not after the first occasion!) as it should cancel the "reliable" flag for ARP1 for that host I'm not sure what you mean there, Al. Download errors occurred for me one month ago, until this month. I seem to have had two download errors this month: yesterday and the day before that (on the same host): $ wcgstats -@errr -f* 203600343 workunit 203600343 ARP1_0031364_136_0 Linuxmint InPrg 2022-11-09T16:03:29 2022-11-15T16:03:29 0.00/0.00 0.0/0.0--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Details: ARP1_0031364_136_1 Fedora Linux Error 2022-11-09T15:17:11 2022-11-09T15:24:17 0.00/0.00 0.0/0.0 $ wcgstats -@errr -f* 202504164 workunit 202504164 ARP1_0016370_133_0 Linux Debian Valid 2022-11-04T19:49:59 2022-11-06T07:05:06 9.57/9.58 606.6/612.0--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Details: ARP1_0016370_133_2 Fedora Linux Error 2022-11-10T19:33:55 2022-11-10T19:47:54 0.00/0.00 0.0/0.0(details of other devices removed for brevity) [Edit 3 times, last edit by adriverhoef at Nov 11, 2022 12:10:46 PM] |

I have just received 9973_110_9. This is a record for me. It sure is, Mike, I'm convinced that no-one has ever experienced such a high digit in the past few years. Could you provide its workunit-ID, please?I wonder if the digit will ever turn into a two digit number or if there's a hard limit. In case a two digit number turns up, I will have to revise (some of) my WCGtools programs. Adri |
