Hi,
After migration to Krrembil I wasn't given much work, but I did return some successfully and credit has been granted. I managed to capture today APR returned on 23 July, there were more from APR - ARP1_0013982_127 14.18 / 14.5 469.1 / 500.6 (I have image ready, but cannot be attached here) and not only that project. When I look at history (https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/contribution/history), it shows last record from 2022-02-21, so no granted credit got accumulated for anything I returned after restart. |

If this is you, then you did return some work indeed, according to this page from Boincstats. (I have image ready, but cannot be attached here) You can upload an image to an external site and then provide the link to the image on the forum here with the Image button (between the Email and Code buttons). When I look at history (https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/contribution/history), it shows last record from 2022-02-21, so no granted credit got accumulated for anything I returned after restart. You're not the only one here. My last record e.g. is from 22-02-2022 (yes, a mirror date, you can read the digits from left to right or from right to left and they're still the same ). However, if you look in BOINC Manager, under Projects (Ctrl+Shift+P), you'll notice that Work done has increased since February, because you returned some Valid results. Adri |

Hi Adri,
so is this a known issue and it's being worked on? If you have the same, I guess we are not the only ones, but still... This is the result returned a while ago (the Preview doesn't seem to be showing images from imagebam, but it does show in new tab if clicked...) And this is my History, NB it's the first page sorted by newest |

Hi Adri, so is this a known issue and it's being worked on? If you have the same, I guess we are not the only ones, but still... Hi peto, it is being worked on indeed. One of the many problems I guess. This is the result returned a while ago (the Preview doesn't seem to be showing images from imagebam, but it does show in new tab if clicked...) And this is my History, NB it's the first page sorted by newest To include the image here on the forum, you need to link to the exact URL of the image. In this case, on Imagebam, it is a bit difficult, because clicking 'Share' and 'COPY' on Imagebam or 'Copy Link' from your browser doesn't work. However, after a little bit of trial and error you'll find you can get the URL on Imagebam by clicking 'Copy Image Link' from your browser if you have the image on your screen. Then go back here and click 'Image' and paste the copied URL from your browser. Result: and the second one: |

]so no granted credit got accumulated for anything I returned after restart. Correct. Welcome to the wonderful world of WCG, where everyone "suffers" from the same problems... ;-)Ralf |

However, if you look in BOINC Manager, under Projects (Ctrl+Shift+P), you'll notice that Work done has increased since February, because you returned some Valid results. Perhaps a better way is to look under Statistics (Ctrl + Shift + S). Regardless, one needs the "Advanced View" (not the crappy Simple View) of BOINC Manager. Another way to see that you are in fact getting credits is by looking up your username here... https://boinc.netsoft-online.com/ It updates every 24 hours or so. |

there is NOTHING that indicates that you will get credit (neither point/runtime wise) within WCG for any WU crunched, returned and validated. Total points accumulated are transmitted to BOINC, that part seems to be working, but nothing in that regard within WCG itself (beyond seeing the result for each WU, but they seem to vanish in thin air afterwards)... Ralf Well…, is that true? And why are you saying that? I don't understand. I see my statistics getting updated on external sites like Boincstats and Netsoft-online. How is that possible? Where do those sites get that information? From all the BOINC clients? Or from some other external site? Does WCG upload their statistics to external sites? Or is it as simple as WCG exporting their data on the WCG site itself so that external sites can download WCG's data? Let's assume that WCG is exporting their data. With all accumulated points. On their own site. So that external sites can download the WCG data. Without that, it would be impossible for external sites like Boincstats to compile all current WCG statistics, including accumulated points. This sounds logical. So let's say that this is true, unless someone knows of an alternative way. If this is true, then the next logical step of reasoning is: if WCG is exporting their data on the WCG site itself, then the words 'nothing within WCG itself' above can't be true. If someone understands what I'm saying. Adri [Edit 1 times, last edit by adriverhoef at Aug 3, 2022 9:04:22 PM] |

Ralf, Adri,
----------------------------------------I've mentioned some of this elsewhere, but... Part of the "built in" facilities of a standard BOINC set-up is a C++ program called db-dump which writes the daily stats export files for BoincStats and similar. That is its sole function. Now, recall the round-midnight and round-noon stats runs that used to happen pre-hiatus? I reckon that was what produced current data for all the reports we don't get at present; however, if they just turned that back on again at present it would quite possibly foul up any attempt to conserve the streak[1]. By the way, my programs that use direct API calls can get the day's work done (all individual tasks detailed) but the My Contribution part is stuck back in February, which confirms that the data isn't there. (Apologies if you knew all that already - others might be interested?...) When the stats are re-run for the first time I expect one of three things to happen:
Since adding #3, I've had another chance to look into how the standard BOINC host and per-user project stats tables are maintained -- it appears to only keep the latest day's count, so [unfortunately] #3 is a more likely outcome than #2. Cheers - Al. [1] The streak (which I wouldn't miss at all!) may give them some problems, depending on how IBM chose to compute and store the data. [Edited on August 5th to add #3 to list (and an associated comment!)] [Edited on August 10th to alter the comment about #3...] [Edit 3 times, last edit by alanb1951 at Aug 10, 2022 7:59:20 AM] |
