No "Device Profiles" Page [Solved]

I just noticed that there is no longer a page specifically for profiles. I know you can get to them through the Device Management page, but there was a page that specifically listed the profiles.

Cheers coffee

This?

You access that page by clicking on the user icon at the top right corner, Profile and Settings, Devices and Device Profiles.

This seems to crop up quite often (and I suspect that bookmarking that page might be a good idea!)...

If I click on that "user" icon the pop-up offers Profile and Settings but no sub-options, and clicking that menu item lands me on the Communications preferences page (and there is no route on that page to Devices or Device Profiles...)!

However, once I've landed on that Communication preferences page, the left side menu (on the "hamburger" icon) shows an entire Settings section, and Devices is on there - is that what you meant, or does your "user" menu have sub-sections?

The Settings section is not present on the main menu if I am on a results page or in the forums. The only way I can find to get at the Devices and Profiles is to select Devices from the My Contribution section and then click the Device manager panel at bottom left. That should produce a list of current devices (but that's a different issue!) and clicking on a device or its profile will have the expected result.

And, again, once in the Device management section, the left menu has the Settings section available!

If you see something different, it would be interesting to work out why -- for what it's worth, I'm on Linux with a fairly recent copy of Firefox as browser...

Cheers - Al.

Hm, Al, I may be wrong, but if you scroll all the way down a Results page (or a forum page) or perhaps just tap on the <End> key (if that works for you), then you might find there:

Contribute
... and once you click Settings there, there is either a panel on the left (if your screen is wide enough) or a 'hamburger' menu on the left that you can click, after which you should see and be able to select Devices.

for what it's worth, I'm on Linux with a fairly recent copy of Firefox as browser...

Cheers - Al.

Me too. smile

Re: No "Device Profiles" Page

Everything is the same except for your remark about the Settings page not being available on the forums or the result status page. Are your referring to the Profile and Settings button on the "user pop-up" or did I misunderstand? The said pop-up is available on every page as far as I can tell.

The Profile and Settings button on the "user pop up" is the one I'm saying goes to the Communications page. And, as Adri has pointed out, you can also get to that Communications page (and hence the "hamburger" menu with the extra Settings section) from the Settings link at the foot of any page that has the standard footer.

I'm not convinced that Communications is the optimal landing point for either route to that menu, but it is what it is...

Ah, well -- at least there are ways of getting there, even if we may have to do more clicks than we might want to :-)

Cheers - Al.

Ah, no wonder there's some confusion -- I don't usually let browser windows use the entire screen width so I've never noticed that you might get a menu panel instead of the 'hamburger', at which point the devices stuff is one less click away!

Cheers - Al.

Re: No "Device Profiles" Page

Thank you. I had been using the other set of menus. I hadn't realized there was another separate menu accessible from top right.
