I badly need to crunch WU's on WCG, and I can use an abacus.
----------------------------------------If the project would kindly send me one OPN1 task via snail mail, I will crunch it, and return it before the year 2090. [Edit 3 times, last edit by Grumpy Swede at Jul 14, 2022 11:19:08 PM] |

I’m starving Go to https://gene.disi.unitn.it/test/ follow the instructions in paragraph Join TN-Grid. Lots of food there... and it's health science stuff like WCG.OR Milkyway but it is not health science [Edit 1 times, last edit by BobbyB at Jul 14, 2022 1:59:38 PM] |

There is also DENIS@home, recently re-launched.
----------------------------------------Rosetta has vbox tasks (large disk & memory) and some standard tasks. Paul.

HAHA Grumpy Swede I think you speak for many of us in reference the hoops we would jump through to participate in a project we love.
I wonder if it was like that for the "human computers" at NASA's early space program. Computers make it the computations so much easier (especially many computers distributed doing the work), but we believe in this project so much that we will do it with whatever we have at hand if we have to. |

Bryn Mawr That's funny TN-Grid keeps my Ryzen 9 3900X 24 threads, Ryzen 5 3600X 12 threads, and Intel i7-3770 8 threads at 100% just like when it was just WCG.That's 44 threads in all. Yes, I’ve joined TN-Grid and SI-Dock to keep me going but they’re not as filling as the meaty stuff :-) So what are you running? threadrippers? Before the WCG maintenance there was only WCG in the stats below. Milkyway and Rosetta only run on the Intel i7-3770. I cancelled SI-Dock for some reason. Not keen on having to run Vbox for Rosetta so not many standard tasks come in. [Edit 2 times, last edit by BobbyB at Jul 15, 2022 12:16:55 AM] |

You can turn off vbox tasks at Rosetta. Go you your host computers, click on details and scroll to the bottom. Click Skip Vbox tasks and you'll no longer get tasks requiring vbox.

Oh, they keep my cores running (Ryzen 9 3900 so same as yours but 65w TDP) but the subject matter is not my first choice. SI-Dock is running native for me, no VBox enabled on any of my machines - if I ran VBox for Rosetta all it would do is cut down what other tasks I could run and I’ll not let Rosetta’s laziness reduce the work I do for other projects. |
