I continue to receive a message from WCG that I'm using an old URL. It provides a new one to use. However after deleting and re-adding the project, with the proper URL change, your project wizard re-adds the project with the same old URL and so no work can get done. The suggested URL is "https://master.worldcommunitygrid.org/". Is this proper, since your current site is different from that? What needs to be done to use this URL which is different from your site URL?

The point is what is the correct address that should be used?
I would guess the old one since the new one just diverts back to the old one too? If the wrong address is used, it could result in not getting new work units while the wrong address is used. I've never found ignoring an error to be a good practice for BOINC as it will often delay getting work for some time before you figure out that you are trying to communicate to the wrong address. Either they are on the new address and there's a problem with users connecting for work with the old one or they are putting out the message in error in which it's giving false information to change the address. BOINC manager still shows the old one as correct but then again they've never been known to correct wrong addresses for sometimes months. I think we need to hear from WCG in an announcement to confirm the change or the message that renews itself frequently in BM needs to be terminated if incorrect. |

If I remove WCG from my task list and then add WCG to the list again, it uses the following URL.
----------------------------------------https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ The suggested URL is "https://master.worldcommunitygrid.org/". To make matters worse, if I use the Boinc Manager to see the Properties, I get: URL http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ from which I infer it does not even use the URL the Boinc Manager says it will use. As long as the project sends out no work units, it does not seem to matter, but how do I override the URL the Boinc Manager puts in there? When will the boinc manager be fixed to use the correct URL? 7.16.11 is the mos recent one for m distribution of Linux. ![]() |

WCG has not restarted yet. Yesterday, a small batch of work was sent out but I don't think there's any work being sent as of now.
