shoulda looked here first -- coulda saved me about 6 hours of insanity. New computer, new install, can't connect, must be me.
----------------------------------------Maybe post this on the now deleted but perhaps restored migration update page? I figured it was ME -- for way too many hours -- where's the emoji for me shooting myself in the head?

I am sorry for your wasted time and effort. However it has been clearly communicated in the forum - as soon as website and forum were back online - that WUs are not yet available.
----------------------------------------The work distribution should restart "soon". Cheers, Yves |

Why not put a message on the front page of www.worldcommunitygrid.org or on the initial page displayed at account login?

I don't get it either. and so do many others...
They announced they have someone for Public Affairs now but they haven't been using her... ...at least here apparently. |

Well, most of the time it was quiet on (I mean during) weekends (I mean on Saturdays and Sundays) over at IBM, too. So that issues with workunits that I discovered on Fridays didn't get picked up on Monday, or too late.
There are volunteers, i.e. some of us, that are working every day of the week, including weekends, I mean using BOINC. I don't believe the small Krembil team is working on weekends, let alone for months in a row. BTW, Yavanius, are you still based in Antarctica, running on fossil energy? Or are you one of those at Antarctica’s only zero-emission research base, the Princess Elisabeth Antarctica Research Station in East Antarctica? |

Getting tasks is still hit or miss. It is not necessary to change the URL to get tasks. I have one system getting tasks, but not the others (so far). Cheers

I am getting different results now. But still no work units: Not surprising, as the BOINC server has not officially been called operational yet.Notice: nothing about HTTP service unavailable It's all some kind of testing still, so it is rather hit and miss if you are able to get ANY WUs. Also, you need to have OPN1 enabled in your projects, as that is the only project within WCG that is giving out those test units. And as a word of caution, if you get WUs, you might not get any credit for it. At least the web site isn't showing any (yet) and it seems only a fraction of those returned and validated WUs will show up as credit on any external stats site, like BOINCstats. (Even with that 7:1 credit ratio, BOINC stats is barely showing a 3 digit credit count since I got and returned the first of those test WUs) And it seems, with only getting WUs intermittently, if you get some and then none for days, it will reset your streak stat, though that is nothing I personally care about... Ralf PS: Of course, as soon as I type this, some of my hosts now started to get MCM WUs... |
