Website and Forum restart

We are thrilled to announce that our website and forums have finished rebuilding and testing, and are both available for public access.

The website and forums are back with full functionality. As veteran volunteers, there isn’t anything there that you have not seen before (except easier to find links to forums and social media accounts on the top of the page).

Thanks to funding from Ian Lawson van Toch Foundation, we were able to hire a communications intern, so more content will be coming up soon, and communications with you will be more streamlined.

Please do post any questions about the website and forum restart in Forum Restart Questions and Answers.

Re: Website and Forum restart

Was concerned for a little bit that things had fallen through but am relieved that is not the case. Hopefully the workunits aren't far off! wink

Re: Website and Forum restart

Any idea of a timescale until we get some work? My client is checking regularly, hoping to get something while my solar panels are giving me power (which is currently being wasted!)

Re: Website and Forum restart

BOINC manager is running but always with message 'Requete au plannificateur en attente. Demandé par le projet. Communication differée'. I would love to work on tasks - what is missing?

They have not started releasing work units yet. Please be patient.

Re: Website and Forum restart

As the 70th overall user here, being patient for over 4 months with numerous huge delays and NO information has been very upsetting. I only found out they were up at all by refreshing the news page, that then disappeared.

Re: Website and Forum restart

Also, it appears what all previous results are missing, so I will have to re-earn my 70th place.

sad Re: Website and Forum restart

I'm a long time contributor to WCG. Since the forums and website are restarted I have not received a single work unit. I am currently receiving work units from Einstein@Home with no problem. I've clicked on Update while WCG is highlighted and I get "Communications Deferred" and when that time runs out nothing happens. How can I restart the project working on my computers?

Re: Website and Forum restart

My results are there. No work units have yet been sent. Progress seems to have been made but they seem to have stopped forecasting the restart due to getting it wrong previously. A bit more patience should see us back in business.
