Recruiting Android Devices

Good morning to all members of this forum, and good year to everyone. I created my team in order to make it the biggest team working on the project only with Android devices. Right now I have 6 octacore smartphones working 24/7 for the project. The next personal goal is to have 100 cores working uninterruptedly for the project. Join my team.

Re: Recruiting Android Devices

If you can get eight instances of the Africa Rainfall Project running on your telephone, I'll buy you a drink.

Re: Recruiting Android Devices

The OP was the same under OPN. That was feasible. It is not with ARP!

That would be a neat trick. biggrin Running two might be barely doable on a Cortex-A72 (Pi 4/400-class), but otherwise, if you were to try to run ARP on ARM, you'd want a server-class chip or Apple Silicon. But for small tasks that can fit in-cache, the Pi 400 is a shockingly good crunch-per-watt contender.

ARP is already a stretch for older x86 systems, as I can see from watching my old laptop i7s slogging through the bigger ARP units and sometimes turning them in past deadline even though they run 24/7. I'm surprised I haven't seen a "Too Late" yet, but I'm sure it'll happen.

Don't forget the deadline is actually another 24 hours these days. My old i5 is managing 2.
