Restore from old backup

Hi,

restoring my windows farm from backups. Unfortunately they are a week old. Which files/folders under C:\Programdata\BOINC I should leave unrestored, so the clients would not start working on old work units again?

Running OPN, OPNG and HST

rtx, xeon, i9, ryzen, rnd laptops
dAM0NES 1991 ppl interested in beer, amigas or electornic music

I would restore everything but delete all the WUs.

If they're past the due date they will be server aborted. If not just delete them.

Re: Restore from old backup

There is a big chance that after connecting to WCG your host(s) will get a new HOSTID, because the <rpc_seqno> will be out of sync.
Probably those machines will be treated like new clients starting with 0 credit.

Re: Restore from old backup

If I understand correctly you want to restore the OS/other applications but not BOINC.
Suggest leave all Programdata\BOINC un-restored and BOINC will sort itself out.
(I no longer have a windows box running to confirm details).

Paul.

C:\temp\restore\Volume1\BOINC\projects\www.worldcommunitygrid.org <--- so delete everything here, except app_config,xml ?

I don't mind if the credits of the hosts will reset

Re: Restore from old backup

I would restore all of BOINC and remove everything under 'slots' (just not 'slots' itself), then continue crunching.
