Hi, is it possible to set BOINC to process only OPNG wus AND wus from MCM or any other project (Help Stop TB or Smash Childhood Cancer)?
On Device Manager, it looks like it's possible to Enable / Disable CPU and GPU processing, but in general, not specific to a project. ( For example, I can't disable CPU processing for OPN without disabling it on MCM ) If possible, I need help with the setup. Thank you. |

You have a non-problem there. MCM doesn't have a GPU "version", only OPN1 is blessed with one.

I’m not sure it’s possible short of setting up two Boinc instances. |

You could minimise the OPN1 units and maximise the MCM1 units by setting project limits in custom profile. If the MCM1 limit is high and the OPN1 limit is low, you would only process the occasional OPN1 unit.

Try this:
In your device profile, under "Available Projects", deselect OpenPandemics. At the bottom of that section, select "If there is no work available for the project(s) I have selected above, please send me work from another project." In the section for "Graphics Card Usage", select "Yes" for your graphics card type. This is the way I have my device profile set up and I only get OPNG units and I get CPU units for the other Available Projects that I have selected. |

It seems that there are few enough OPN1 units on x86 that it would be more trouble than it's worth to try to stop them.
----------------------------------------I just took a look at my latest valid OpenPandemics reults, and the hilarious thing is that if I don't count the GPU work, then my Raspberry Pi 400s and overclocked 4 are each comparable to my Ryzen 7 1700 main cruncher in total credit generated on OPN1 alone. Of course, the picture changes when you include all the other projects (and the GPU steamrolls all else), but OPN1 on x86 seems to be less common than before, and my x86 crunchers do more MCM than anything else. I limit ARP to 3 on the big box and 1 on the older machines, with no OPN1 limits. [Edit 1 times, last edit by spRocket at Nov 22, 2021 3:57:00 PM] |
