Hi all,
There is a small bug in the dead line calculation at least on macOS 12.0.1 with BOINC Manager 7.16.19 in the Central European timezone. I believe, it started when we switched from summer time to regular time. Since then, the deadline in the BOINC manager is one day earlier than on the website. It's not a big deal, but it might confuse a few people. Cheers, Felix |

That's actually been the case for a while. It is to give a client a soft deadline one day in advance of the hard deadline shown on the website for the server. This way there's an additional day before the server resends the job to someone else, to avoid then needing to abort the task for that new recipient if the previous cruncher turns it in just past what they see as their soft deadline. Basically, it's to reduce job churn.

OK, then nevermind.
I noticed some very short deadlines of ARP work units. Without having read the "work available" thread in the ARP sub forum, I noticed the date difference. Now I know it's because of accelerated generations and the soft deadline. |
