I really like the idea of this project and would like to contribute to it with my AMD64 and WinXP SP2, but I can't!
All the problems should be fixed ASAP to keep people dedicated to this project. So far no news from the creators... this is frustrating! |

Why can't you? It doesn't like the AMD64?

Looks like it. There is another thread (number 182) about it. It looks like someone got it working with an AMD64 by turning Data Execution Prevention on for all programs, but that doesn't work for me.
----------------------------------------Strange that it doesn't work... it (the AMD64) is 32-bit compatible. That's why I bought it in the first place. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Nov 20, 2004 11:32:27 AM] |

For what reason did you install SP2 for Windows XP? It's the most sucking kind of service pack!
On my daily work most employees are only using SP, or just better - Win 2000. |

But: Well, just read the computer news and several news about MS XP SP2. The most annoying SP occured. For professional applications this is absolutely not useful. And Windows 2000 is indeed better for this than XP does. I am not talking about little IT enterprises, rather big industrial networks. But SP2 is sucking - for everyone. |

Most of the professionel software out there are not made according to MS specifications/guidelines. Companies r making software on a windows platform w/o following the guideline layed out by the platform-creator, and when that platform is upgraded/opdated/bug fixed, they blame the platform-creator that their software isnt working nomore, instead of blaming their own lack of skills to follow guidelines for applications for that particular platform. Yes, I know that many ppl dont rly like Micro$oft and Windows etc etc, but honestly, OS/2 or Linux isnt rly that gr8 for 80% of the users out there. I honestly think that SP2 was a welcoming breeze. And no, I dont work at M$ ![]() |

No no, DEP should be turned on ONLY for Windows programs and services. Not for ALL programs. That gave problems on my installation!. However, please be aware that since last weekend, no unit seem to complete any more. Looks like there is a serious problem with the client/workunits currently. a lot of people experience this ( including me) on all processor types. This is NOT A64 related.
