As I was writing this I solved my problem, but posting anyway in case someone else finds it later when suffering the same,
WCG is currently using 88.5% of my RAM and this is sadly causing problems. I have "Use no more than: 10.0% of memory while computer in use" set and I see from the client's event log that it calculates a suitably low amount of memory allowed to be in use. I do see some jobs, sometimes, saying they are "Waiting for memory". It just seems, perhaps, that its not enough. Turns out the problem is that BOINC does not correctly detect if the computer is in use and so it was using the 90% figure from "while computer idle". I have now lowered this and the the limit is respected. Why idle detection doesn't work is not something I am going to look at now (though I have suspicions). Running Linux. |

Hi,
----------------------------------------I'm guessing that you are suffering from an already reported issue with the OPN project. See here. Best solution right now would be to de-select the OPN project until this can get looked at and choose other WCG projects (MCM would be a good fit). AMD Ryzen 5 1600AF 6C/12T 3.2 GHz - 85W AMD Ryzen 5 2500U 4C/8T 2.0 GHz - 28W AMD Ryzen 7 7730U 8C/16T 3.0 GHz |

I have had similar issues regarding Idle detection if I use WCG profiles to set my BOINC Client preferences. Because of this I always use another Project to set or adjust my preferences. Bill F |
