Had a fan issue with my main crunching PC. After a few reboots WCG was not showing up in the project list for BOINC, and when I tried to reattach, it started doing initial redownloads and my queue didn't return.
My log went insane with hundreds of similar errors. When I googled it, the most recent advice was from 2007. Uninstalling and reinstalling BOINC did not restore the missing tasks.

Uninstalling and reinstalling BOINC did not restore the missing tasks. That's because the BOINC tasks directory is a hidden folder by default and not part of an uninstall/reinstall. They are probably gone for good. Look at your project stats on the website. Those tasks are probably listed as detached and the ones that were running as errors.
