I hope someone can share their credit result by batch. I understand that are two strong opposing views about credits granted. Let's not discuss it here. I'm more interested in the bi-modal distribution of credits seen recently by batch.
----------------------------------------Here is my result. All gpu cards are within 2x speeds. Can't get accurate run time due to not running 1 task per gpu, so someone may have better quality result than mine. Batch_Count_AverageCredits 0501___9___792 1592___1___831 1600___5___839 1605___3___810 1613___1___997 1614___2___704 1629___2___948 1634___1___885 1654___1___895 1683___1___1072 1747___7___778 1798___2___938 1837___15___888 1845___1___919 1979___2___766 1990___1___755 2042___1___957 2111___10___698 2335___11___101 2344___7___100 2375___1___120 2378___1___122 2383___5___98 2425___1___122 2556___2___97 2573___7___115 2598___5___117 2636___1___106 2659___12___88 2670___2___96 |

Yea credit is all over the place you can get 79 points or 980 points for doing the seemingly the same -wcgdpf 15 run.
But if you want further proof then look through your result list and look for tasks that has also been done by a wing-man, then 9 times out of ten he will get a completely different credit amount than you do.(many hundreds of points diffence usually) And thats's for doing the exact same work unit???. |

FWIW here are my observations. Tasks below 0002200+/- or above 0003500+/- have more jobs and get high rewards with few invalids. Those between 0002200+/- and 0003500+/- have less jobs and run very quickly, usually less than 60 seconds on a fast card, and get low rewards. Those tasks between 0002200+/- and 0003500+/- also have a very high invalid rate but there are some batches between those numbers that run fine. It's really weird what's going on IMHO.

Good evening,
So, the batches listed between 2225-3336 are known bad batches that were given to us by the researchers. I am attempting to limit the reruns of those that are error state. As for points, it is based 100% off of how your gpu runs those jobs within a work unit. We size the work units to be 20x larger than the CPU versions. If a work unit runs 100% for each job, then it'll get 20x the average credit that a CPU version gets. This is about 1600 points would be the max. What happens is that during the job runs they may only complete 80% of the estimated calculations needed. Thus we only grant 80% of the total 1600. This is why the values differ between batches and work units. During beta tests, we were seeing the average calculations to be close to 60% of the estimated calculations needed. This is good as it is the application running more efficiently. Hope this helps explain the differences and the problems listed by nanoprobe. Thanks, -Uplinger |
